Staff Network Engineer (AI/Fintech)

Location: Hybrid schedule with three days per week onsite in San Francisco or Culver City, California

Salary: $203,000–$275,000 USD per year for San Francisco, CA

hirify.global is building an AI platform and self-clearing brokerage infrastructure for independent financial advisors, including software for account opening, trading, reporting, and billing.

What you will do

• Own multi-region AWS network architecture across production, clearing, and platform environments, including VPCs, Transit Gateway topology, routing, and address-space strategy.
• Design network segmentation, traffic inspection, and infrastructure-as-code delivery using Terraform and GitOps.
• Lead the transition to zero-trust and SASE access models with application-level access and device-posture controls.
• Manage partner connectivity through site-to-site VPNs, BGP peering, Direct Connect circuits, and encrypted tunnels for financial-services counterparties.
• Define observability, incident escalation, disaster recovery, cross-region failover, and office and edge-networking standards.
• Apply AI-native and agentic workflows to audit, drift detection, configuration analysis, and network operations while providing technical leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• 8+ years of network engineering experience, including 3+ years in cloud-native environments and ownership of production networks.
• Deep experience with AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, PrivateLink, NAT, egress patterns, and security groups.
• Strong knowledge of routing, BGP, IPsec, TLS, DNS, DHCP, packet analysis, segmentation, and traffic inspection.
• Experience with zero trust or SASE technologies, Terraform, infrastructure as code, scripting, cloud APIs, and Kubernetes networking.
• AI-native approach required, including use of AI tooling for code, configuration, log analysis, and large-scale infrastructure reasoning with verification before production use.
• Ability to work closely with Security on regulated-industry requirements, accepted risk documentation, network incidents, and partner connectivity.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, brokerage, clearing, custody, banking, or market-data connectivity.
• Network integration experience during acquisitions or enterprise mergers.
• Experience with Claude best practices, service mesh, API gateways, WAF, bot management, CDN security, campus networking, or branch networking.
• AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP certification.
