DevOps Engineer (Pulumi/TypeScript)

Location: Hybrid, based in the United States, with offices in San Francisco, California, and Seattle, Washington. In-person office days are required; San Francisco office days are Mondays and Thursdays.

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement infrastructure as code with Pulumi and TypeScript.
• Manage, scale, and monitor Kubernetes clusters using Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Build and maintain BuildKite CI/CD pipelines for testing, building, and deployment.
• Operate monitoring, logging, and alerting systems with Honeycomb and Google Cloud Logging.
• Collaborate with development teams on infrastructure solutions, reliability, availability, and cloud cost optimization.
• Develop disaster recovery, backup, automation, documentation, and production-support procedures.

Requirements

• Professional experience with infrastructure as code and proficiency in TypeScript.
• Hands-on Kubernetes cluster management and orchestration experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and containerization with Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as BuildKite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, cloud networking, and security best practices.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pulumi, GKE, TypeScript, BuildKite, and Honeycomb.
• Experience implementing infrastructure security and compliance practices.
• Database management and optimization experience.
• Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications.
• Scripting experience with Ruby, Python, or Bash.
