Head of Workplaces

Location: On-site in San Francisco five days a week; workplace portfolio covers San Francisco, New York, Pittsburgh, and Chicago.

Estimated base salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own real estate portfolio strategy, including capacity planning, site selection, lease negotiations, renewals, and long-term capital planning.
• Set design standards and lead the delivery of new offices, renovations, and major workplace investments.
• Partner with Facilities, IT, Security, Finance, Legal, and external specialists on project planning and execution.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, approvals, permitting, safety, accessibility, and operational readiness.
• Lead the Facilities and Workplace Experience functions, currently comprising a Facilities Manager, two Office Managers, and two Workplace Experience Coordinators.
• Build executive alignment around workplace strategy, investment decisions, design standards, tradeoffs, and operating priorities.

Requirements

• Experience leading a multi-office workplace portfolio through growth or significant change.
• Strong hands-on experience with facilities, building systems, construction, vendor management, commercial real estate transactions, and financial planning.
• Track record of delivering workplace projects with disciplined scope, budget, schedule, and operational readiness management.
• Strong design judgment balancing aesthetics, functionality, accessibility, maintenance, and cost.
• Experience developing teams and managers with clear accountability and meaningful autonomy.
• Ability to communicate recommendations to senior leaders, navigate disagreement, and secure decisions under ambiguity.
