Senior Software Engineer (Forward Deployed) (AI)

Location: London, hybrid; available to work from the office a few days per week and travel for on-site client engagements as needed

Salary: £110,000–£162,000 GBP annual salary, depending on level and location-based pay tier

What you will do

• Scope technical solutions for operational problems with delivery leaders and clients.
• Identify workflow improvements and turn them into stable, scalable solutions.
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, embedding models, retrieval systems, and automation tools.
• Translate inconsistent data, latency requirements, and other real-world constraints into robust engineering solutions.
• Iterate based on feedback from operators and clients while building reusable deployment tooling and infrastructure.
• Own projects end-to-end, from scoping and prototyping through deployment, and participate in customer on-call support.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with data, ML, or backend systems.
• Deep Python proficiency and hands-on experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI, Pinecone, and related ecosystems.
• Experience with Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, cloud environments, full-stack deployment, and API-based deployment patterns.
• Experience with workflow orchestration, Kafka, schema governance, data contracts, data quality enforcement, Delta/ETL pipelines, and replay processes.
• Strong product and system design skills, including the ability to convert business needs and ambiguous requirements into technical architecture.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with experience leading discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
