Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, experiment with, and deploy production LLM and agentic systems for extracting and reasoning over medical records and application data.
• Build and maintain evaluation harnesses to measure the impact of model and prompt changes.
• Architect multi-step, tool-using workflows with explicit state, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Underwriting SMEs to align ML capabilities with product requirements.
• Take systems from prototype to production while optimizing latency, cost per run, and reliability at scale.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in ML/AI with hands-on expertise in NLP, LLMs/SLMs, and agentic systems.
• Experience building with OpenAI and Anthropic models or APIs, plus strong knowledge of LLM and agent architectures.
• Experience designing and owning evaluation harnesses for LLM and agent outputs, as well as prompt and context engineering.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI, Postgres or similar databases, and event-driven asynchronous architectures.
• Working knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

Nice to have

• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, DSPy, GEPA, or similar coding-agent and prompt-optimization tooling.
