TL;DR

Focus on managing time-sensitive records and admissions, retrieving lab results, supporting nurses and physicians, and prioritizing changing patient-care needs during 12-hour day shifts.

Location: 300 Randall Rd., Geneva, Illinois, United States. Onsite part-time role with two 12-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; every other weekend and rotating holidays are required.

Salary: USD 17.05–25.58 per hour.

What you will do

  • Provide unit reception, patient registration, clerical support, medical record management, and telephone screening.
  • Coordinate unit workflow with the charge nurse, assistant manager, physicians, and other patient-care departments.
  • Prepare, assemble, update, and forward medical records for admissions and discharges.
  • Enter and verify physician orders, clinical data, patient status, admissions, discharges, and census information in computer systems.
  • Retrieve lab results, communicate relevant information to nurses, and support timely delivery of medications, supplies, and diagnostic services.
  • Assist patients and families, provide directions and reassurance, manage inquiries, and resolve service issues professionally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to perform accurate order entry and documentation.
  • Effective spoken and written English communication is required.
  • Ability to identify situations requiring an interpreter and use interpreter services effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, organization, flexibility, and the ability to work calmly under stress.
  • Onsite availability in Geneva, Illinois, including two 12-hour day shifts weekly, alternating weekends, and rotating holidays.
