Senior Environmental Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

• Create hardware test procedures and ensure readiness for environmental test campaigns.
• Develop standard operating procedures for environmental test technicians.
• Improve environmental test processes to increase throughput, reduce lead time and labor, and support the transition from engineering development to production.
• Identify, qualify, and implement environmental test equipment and processes for high-reliability production.
• Troubleshoot hardware, equipment, and software issues, determine root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop test equipment automation and simplify processes to enable production autonomy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least five years of related experience.
• Experience in hardware testing within the aerospace industry.
• Experience operating or maintaining thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, and/or vibration shakers.
• Experience with test instrumentation such as thermocouples, accelerometers, and pressure transducers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with peers.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD, GEVS, SMC, or similar standards.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling production-rate capability.
• Experience conducting RTCA DO-160 aerospace environmental qualification campaigns.
• Hardware automation experience with Python, C++, or similar technologies.
