Senior Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do

• Develop test architectures and systems, including equipment selection, fixtures, data logging, and interfaces.
• Design and execute prototype, qualification, acceptance, and board-level verification tests for power, digital, RF, and temperature-related performance.
• Develop reusable Python-based software for interfacing with flight hardware and test equipment, test automation, data storage, and data access.
• Design integrated hardware and software test solutions for complex products such as phased-array systems.
• Evaluate and document results, advise on design for testability, and present findings to stakeholders, customers, and executives.
• Train technicians and operators while contributing to laboratory buildout, management, and continuous improvement of test tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing electronic products or test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git or SVN, Windows and Linux, VLANs, and network security.
• Experience developing production graphical user interfaces.
• Knowledge of GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, analog-to-digital conversion, and SCPI.
