Senior Avionics Systems Integration Engineer (Hypersonic Defense)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite work required with support for testing at remote facilities.

What you will do

• Lead avionics integration and operational readiness from initial design and assembly through testing and field operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical hardware issues while driving long-term system improvements.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, flight operations, real-time system health monitoring, and post-flight assessments.
• Collaborate across disciplines to optimize avionics architectures and reduce mass, cost, and complexity.
• Develop and validate avionics capabilities covering power systems, sensors, vehicle networks, RF, and control systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical component design, system integration, or electronic testing.
• At least 1 year of experience using MATLAB, Python, or C++.
• Vehicle harnessing experience.
• Experience with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Ability to work onsite and support testing at remote facilities, with occasional travel for test campaigns and customer engagements.

Nice to have

• Experience diagnosing and repairing avionics systems, including sensors and actuators.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools and software automation for testing or analysis.
• Real-time operations experience in flight testing or other high-consequence environments.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
