Senior Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; onsite role. The position involves access to ITAR-controlled information and items, so the hired candidate must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Base salary: $140,000–$175,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own development and production test campaigns from kickoff and test-system design through fabrication, activation, data collection, and results.
• Design test hardware, fixtures, and tooling using CAD, schematic tools, electrical analysis, and hand calculations.
• Build and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and test assets safely and systematically.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend solutions during test campaigns and production buildout.
• Create tools, methods, and processes that improve company-wide testing standards and production throughput.
• Lead multidisciplinary test campaigns and mentor team members on design, workload, scheduling, and communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of industry experience with electromechanical testing, design, and analysis.
• Experience designing, building, and testing electromechanical assemblies and fixtures for aerospace or terrestrial applications.
• Experience with CAD, FEA, or electrical analysis software.
• Proficiency with test automation and tools such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++, R, or LabVIEW.
• Hands-on fabrication experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with data acquisition, controls, and dedicated test equipment such as motor dynos, material testers, vibration tables, environmental data loggers, or hipot machines.
• Practical experience with GD&T and schematic generation.
• Experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM.
• Ownership of electromechanical test hardware or systems within an integrated engineering team.
• Understanding of electrical and electromechanical failure modes in complex space systems.
