Senior Underwriter, Political Violence

Location: New York, United States; primarily office-based with approximately 50% travel

Base salary: $146,000–$178,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Underwrite and develop portfolios covering standalone terrorism, multinational accounts, malicious assailant, active shooter, war, and related political violence risks.
• Identify new markets, distribution opportunities, and areas for profitable product expansion.
• Meet brokers and clients across key markets, develop new business, and convert opportunities.
• Structure coverage for complex multinational accounts with diverse exposures.
• Build and maintain broker and insured relationships while representing Talbot and hirify.global at meetings, market events, and conferences.
• Collaborate with London market and international colleagues to support multinational opportunities and product development.

Requirements

• Detailed knowledge of political violence products.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of insurance products and the industry.
• Advanced analytical, negotiation, and sales or marketing skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to develop and understand business processes, strategy, and planning.
• Ability to build and maintain insured and broker relationships; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
