Junior Mechanical Engineer (Quantum Hardware)

What you will do

• Define technical specifications for mechanical subsystems and components.
• Collaborate across departments to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve existing products and processes.
• Create complex mechanical designs, drawings, and assembly documentation using DFX principles.
• Drive subsystem development and sustaining activities, including project planning, requirements gathering, documentation, and engineering change orders.
• Work with manufacturing and operations to transition concepts into scalable, high-quality products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Demonstrated ability to bring mechanical concepts into reality.
• Ability to manage small projects and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced hardware environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansys or equivalent analysis software.
• Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard.
• Experience with NRTL and CE product safety standards.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
• Machine shop and fabrication skills.
