Patient Access Associate Specialist

Location: Onsite at Mercy - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with no weekends or holidays.

Salary: $17.00-$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and financial information, including point-of-service and past-due payments.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support clean claim processing.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and distribute required documents.
• Operate the hospital telephone switchboard, conduct account audits, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI, to improve patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be able to work onsite at Mercy - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
