Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Operate and scale alpha-to-production environments across AWS, Kubernetes, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Help software teams plan capacity, release frequently, optimize costs, and apply security and infrastructure best practices.
• Build end-to-end observability infrastructure with dashboards, alerts, SLO monitoring, and OpenTelemetry-based tooling.
• Automate continuous delivery, high availability, hermetic builds, infrastructure-as-code, and zero-downtime deployments.
• Design flexible infrastructure and release workflows that can support a satellite constellation scaling by 100x.
• Establish Kubernetes deployment and operations patterns while mentoring engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong infrastructure or SRE engineering background with experience running systems at scale.
• Strong Kubernetes experience covering production operations, deployment tooling, networking, IAM, and GitOps patterns.
• Experience with container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and microservices reliability.
• Practical understanding of observability, effective dashboards and alerts, and tooling for rapidly scaling software teams.
• Ability to write quality software in at least one general-purpose programming language.

Nice to have

• On-premises experience with OpenShift or similar platforms.
• OpenTelemetry experience and contributions to infrastructure tooling such as Helm charts or Terraform modules.
• Familiarity with Bazel, Buck2, Nix, Guix, reproducible builds, distributed tracing, transactional storage, queues, and caching.
