Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Salary: $123,000–$160,000 annual base salary plus equity

What you will do

• Operate and improve Amazon EKS self-service capabilities, including scoped segmentation, governed namespaces, workload scaling, multi-tenancy, and adaptive ingress and egress.
• Implement observability standards that expose request paths, identities, routes, policies, outcomes, saturation, and cost across environments.
• Create documentation, diagrams, and diagnostics to help engineers troubleshoot connectivity and platform issues.
• Support platform code lifecycle management through versioning, safe migrations, deprecations, usage telemetry, and resource cleanup.
• Build automated policies and processes for reliable deployments, code hygiene, and effective testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 2–5 years of experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of Go, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience with disciplined source-control workflows, including branching, code reviews, and automated gates.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab, Amazon EKS, and Datadog, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR or otherwise be eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes CRDs and operators, admission guardrails, linting, simulation, and automated tests.
• Infrastructure as code and delivery experience with Terraform or CDK, GitOps, progressive or canary rollouts, and policy-as-code.
• Familiarity with observability and SLOs, including metrics, tracing, and structured logs.
