Staff Software Engineer, Platform & Solutions (GCP)

Location: Remote in most states within the United States, with some exclusions; office hubs are available in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

Salary: $170,000–$205,000 annual, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Architect and improve secure, scalable Google Cloud foundations and production workloads.
• Design platform capabilities across GCP, Kubernetes, serverless systems, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, AI, and developer tooling.
• Build Terraform modules, Helm charts, SDKs, scripts, self-service workflows, and internal tools.
• Manage enterprise Kubernetes clusters and establish deployment, security, operational, and release standards.
• Improve developer experience, observability, incident response, cloud governance, and FinOps practices.
• Partner with application, data, product, and UX stakeholders while mentoring engineers and providing architectural guidance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience and senior or staff-level work across multiple technical domains.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP, including Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architecture, and production operations.
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions, Argo CD, GitOps, automated deployment, environment management, and release pipelines.
• Strong object-oriented programming fundamentals and scripting or automation with Python or Bash.
• Experience with metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards, SLOs, incident response, and cross-system debugging.

Nice to have

• GCP Enterprise Foundations Blueprint, GKE, Workload Identity Federation, Artifact Registry, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, or related services.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service infrastructure, golden paths, or platform APIs.
• Experience with Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, data lakes, Kafka, or GCS.
• Familiarity with serverless, event-driven architectures, SOC 2, PCI, CIS benchmarks, or legacy-system modernization.
