Senior Software Engineer, Software Platform

Location: Hybrid — on-site in the San Jose, California office three days per week. Employment is available in registered U.S. states. Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility for access without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required U.S. export authorization.

Salary: $213,000–$237,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable, resilient, and reliable platform systems.
• Develop end-to-end platform capabilities across CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, IAM, and data infrastructure.
• Make architectural decisions that guide the long-term direction of core systems.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, performance issues, and systemic reliability risks.
• Translate business and product needs into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Own features from concept through deployment, operation, code review, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, backend services, or platform development, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Experience operating mission-critical services with uptime, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure, containers, service orchestration, and observability stacks.
• Strong debugging, profiling, code optimization, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time data processing pipelines or high-throughput systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, or automated deployment workflows.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing and knowledge sharing.
• Experience working with engineers, operators, and domain specialists in an interdisciplinary environment.
