OT Network Engineer / Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Glasgow or Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. International project deployments and travel to client sites, including Dubai, may be available.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure OT and industrial network architectures, including segmentation, security zones, conduits, and industrial DMZs.
• Configure and manage firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, routing, access controls, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.
• Integrate industrial systems and support network migrations, upgrades, testing, validation, commissioning, and production go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, firewall, and performance issues across IT, OT, and safety-critical environments.
• Develop network designs, diagrams, firewall rule sets, test plans, security documentation, and as-built documentation.
• Work with clients, vendors, OT, infrastructure, engineering, application, and cybersecurity specialists to provide technical consultancy.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise and industrial networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, and network services.
• Experience configuring next-generation firewalls and working with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco, or Check Point platforms.
• Knowledge of firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, IPS/IDS, application-based security controls, network monitoring, packet analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience designing OT network segmentation and industrial DMZs, supporting secure remote access, and working with industrial protocols and OT architectures.
• Experience with high availability, resilient networking, device hardening, vulnerability remediation, integration, testing, validation, and commissioning.
• Background in OT/ICS, industrial, energy, utilities, or Critical National Infrastructure environments; knowledge of IEC 62443, the Purdue Model, NCSC CAF, or NIST.
