EHS Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. Periodic travel to other operating locations may be required. The role requires access to export-controlled information and the ability to meet U.S. export control requirements under ITAR or EAR.

What you will do

• Conduct safety and compliance inspections across manufacturing, R&D, and test areas, escalating higher-risk conditions.
• Perform task walkdowns and maintain Job Hazard Analyses, procedures, permits, inspection logs, and other EHS records.
• Verify the use and condition of PPE, guarding, lockout devices, ventilation, gas monitors, and other safety controls.
• Support industrial hygiene sampling, exposure-data collection, laboratory coordination, and monitoring records.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; track corrective actions through closure.
• Deliver EHS onboarding, refresher, and task-specific training while managing hazardous waste areas, chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets, and emergency preparedness activities.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting EHS programs in manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA or Cal-OSHA requirements.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to travel periodically to support operations at other locations.
• Ability to meet U.S. export control requirements and access applicable ITAR/EAR-controlled information without additional export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-hazard industries.
• OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, or similar safety training.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
