Director Research & Development

Location: Remote within Canada or the United States; preference for Korean Standard Time availability. Travel to the R&D office in South Korea is required approximately 1–2 times per year.

Salary: 60K–90K annually

What you will do

• Provide technical direction for product development and software support services across the organization.
• Own the technology roadmap and align R&D strategy, goals, and objectives with business priorities.
• Define KPIs, track delivery, manage risks, and report R&D performance to senior leadership.
• Manage department resources, including budgets, personnel, infrastructure, forecasting, and return on investment.
• Lead end-to-end project delivery and coordinate cross-functional teams across scope, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
• Manage, mentor, and coach R&D team members while partnering with executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, 5+ years in project or program management, and 3+ years in leadership or management.
• Bilingual English and Korean.
• Experience managing people and leading cross-functional teams, with strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance delivery accountability with people leadership and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Current, valid passport and legal eligibility to travel internationally, including any required visas for South Korea.
