Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and implement highly scalable backend services, data pipelines, and integration endpoints for high-volume workloads.
• Develop data platform architecture and integrations with distributed systems supporting AI-driven internal workflows.
• Gather requirements, write design documents, and lead technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build observability into services through monitoring, alerting, and dashboards, while investigating bugs and performance improvements.
• Communicate progress, navigate ambiguity, contribute to technical decisions, and provide mentorship and feedback.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of backend development experience, including 1–2 years in senior positions.
• Experience developing distributed web applications and large-scale, highly available services.
• Experience with database modeling, RESTful services, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Ability to write comprehensible, well-structured, and performant code.
• Proven experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, productivity optimization, and software development workflows.
• Experience working in fast-scaling startup or high-velocity environments with strong ownership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, Redis, Ruby on Rails, microservices, or machine learning.
