Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Salary: CAD 131,000–191,400 annual base salary; offers may exceed this range based on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Shape the architecture and technical direction of the hirify.global Platform Services Developer Portal and Application Management platform.
• Lead complex initiatives across services and engineering teams, from exploration and design through production operation.
• Improve developer workflows for app creation, API access, documentation, usage analytics, and platform self-service.
• Remain hands-on with architecture, prototyping, implementation, code reviews, debugging, and production issue resolution.
• Raise engineering standards through design reviews, testing, operational readiness, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across Engineering, Product, Design, and Architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership of technically complex initiatives.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production systems, including complex web applications, API platforms, or distributed systems.
• Hands-on programming experience with backend and/or frontend technologies, cloud services, APIs, data stores, security, and production observability.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Strong communication, mentoring, cross-team collaboration, and technical decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python/Django, JavaScript/TypeScript/React, AWS, relational databases, asynchronous processing, containers, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
• Experience operating cloud-based web applications, developer platforms, or APIs at scale.
• Experience with API security, reliability, scalability, performance, and integrations across services or external platforms.
• Experience scaling AI-assisted engineering practices, automation, or modern developer workflows across teams.
• Experience working with globally distributed engineering and cross-functional teams.
