Staff Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote - Canada

Base salary: $190,000–$220,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect the incrementality product as a reliable, scalable experimentation platform.
• Set the technical direction for near-real-time data ingestion and processing beyond batch workflows.
• Define AI-powered workflows that help marketers evaluate performance and act on insights.
• Lead connection-state systems and partner integrations across data ingestion and exports.
• Shape adjacent product architecture, including role-based access control.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and raise the standard for production delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, or data-processing systems in Python.
• Deep experience owning system architecture and making scale-related tradeoffs.
• Experience shaping products with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
• Startup experience or experience working with broad ownership and ambiguity.
• Ability to investigate complex datasets and interconnected tables, trace dependencies, and develop production-ready solutions.
• Working experience with React and TypeScript; deep frontend specialization is not required.

Nice to have

• Extensive data-intensive backend engineering experience combined with shipped frontend work.
• Experience serving as the primary technical resource for complex architecture decisions.
