Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op (Medical Devices)

Location: Onsite in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States. The co-op runs from January 2027 to June 2027, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Hourly pay: $27.00–$28.00.

hirify.global develops medical devices, software, and related services for diagnosing and treating serious cardiopulmonary and respiratory conditions.

What you will do

• Support the manufacturing of medical devices at the Chelmsford headquarters.
• Create and update production fixtures, parts, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Update engineering documentation and manufacturing work instructions.
• Investigate root causes and support improvements to quality, cost, and delivery.
• Develop and update production floor layouts.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, industrial, quality, and operations personnel on cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the start of the co-op and have completed at least the first year with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Degree studies in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, electrical, or biomedical engineering.
• Experience designing parts, assemblies, and fixtures with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Ability to learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience creating engineering changes and supporting validation activities.
