Manufacturing Engineer II - Automation & Equipment (Medical Devices)

Location: North Haven, Connecticut, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $83,200–$124,800 per year in U.S. locations, excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to identify performance, quality, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide daily production support for metal forming, grinding, and electropolishing processes and equipment.
• Work with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams to investigate defects and implement corrective actions.
• Lead improvement projects, engineering studies, design of experiments, and equipment change initiatives.
• Optimize tooling designs using Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD, and collaborate with toolmakers on failure measurements and reliability improvements.
• Develop product specifications, bills of materials, validation protocols, and reports for new or upgraded equipment and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience with automated or manual machine design, repair, troubleshooting, and manufacturing process support.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo; knowledge of validation activities such as IQ/OQ/MSA/PQ is preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T, Minitab, Six Sigma, DOE, GR&R, CAPA, or DMAIC is preferred.
• Applicants must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical and automation components, robots, and vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
• Project management, presentation, communication, and cross-functional team leadership skills.
