Co-op, R&D Mechanical Engineering (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid in Acton, Massachusetts, United States. Position dates: January 11, 2027 – June 30, 2027.

Annual base salary range: $25.00–$34.00.

hirify.global develops medical device products, including the Omnipod platform, for insulin and other subcutaneous drug delivery.

What you will do

• Work with R&D engineers to develop concepts and prototypes for drug delivery products.
• Use 3D printers, lathes, and mills to rapidly prototype, iterate, and validate designs.
• Create CAD designs and oversee prototype fabrication with external vendors.
• Analyze and test design concepts for feasibility and performance.
• Present concepts, analyses, and findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Support critical design validation testing and other engineering activities as needed.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Entry-level engineering profile with strong attention to detail and data-driven decision-making.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with engineering software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or Matlab and laboratory equipment such as Instron machines, balances, microscopes, or oscilloscopes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-based visa sponsorship.
