Propulsion Engineer Intern (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Salary: $29 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, build, and test propulsion system hardware.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary projects with other teams supporting propulsion and company initiatives.
• Apply academic engineering knowledge to real-world spacecraft development challenges.
• Develop practical engineering and collaborative team skills through meaningful satellite projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in a technical discipline, such as mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics.
• Understanding of spacecraft systems and operation through coursework or student organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with spacecraft design focused on chemical or electrical propulsion.
• Experience with Python.
• Testing experience with spacecraft propulsion systems.
