Test Engineering Intern - Manufacturing (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site work for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027.

Salary: $28 USD per hour in California. A relocation-cost stipend may be available.

What you will do

• Support the team that designs, builds, and operates test infrastructure for propulsion and fluids systems and components.
• Contribute to test engineering solutions including custom test stands and supervisory control and data acquisition hardware and software.
• Support qualification campaigns and production testing from concept through flight.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with mentors and department employees, provide progress updates, and collaborate across teams.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate engineering program and have at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Relevant disciplines include aerospace, mechanical, robotics engineering, or a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory, or personal/team project.
• For work in U.S. offices, must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with Arduino, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, MATLAB, 3D printing, or Python.
