Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Wallops Island, Virginia, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

What you will do

• Support the development of manufacturing processes for the Neutron Launch Vehicle.
• Identify and design equipment required for vehicle receipt, final integration, and launch.
• Work with the Neutron Vehicle Integration Engineer and cross-functional team members on integration, testing, and launch activities.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical manufacturing challenges.
• Lead development projects, collaborate across teams, and provide progress updates to mentors and supervisors.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering, physics, or mathematics and have at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal or team projects.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
• For work in U.S. offices, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Basic coding proficiency in Python, SQL, or automation scripting.
• Solid modeling and CAD/CAM experience.
• Interest in identifying and driving process-improvement opportunities.
