Control Systems Engineer (BHL)

Location: Clayton, North Carolina, United States; onsite five days per week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year.

What you will do

• Design advanced electrical control systems and integrate electrical and mechanical systems for Backhoe Loaders.
• Develop software and procedures that control and improve electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic device performance.
• Design and prototype devices using motors, solenoids, gears, sensors, and springs.
• Validate software controls, display functions, and machine features across Backhoe Loader models and configurations.
• Identify product weaknesses, troubleshoot electrical, software, and mechanical issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with scientists and global teams to support new product development and improvements to existing products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, technical troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Experience or ability to work with machine testing, controls calibration, validation, and data analysis.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple organizations and functions to resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to work onsite in Clayton, North Carolina five days per week.

Nice to have

• Test engineering experience and experience operating construction equipment.
• Experience developing control systems for machines, vehicles, automation, robotics, agricultural equipment, mining equipment, or automotive applications.
