Senior Controls Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Rochester, New York, with full-time reporting to the facility.

Salary: $106,600–$163,400 base compensation annually, plus incentive pay potential.

What you will do

• Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and related components.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and testing for control systems, panels, and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose production process and equipment deficiencies and develop innovative corrective solutions.
• Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays.
• Lead and support the installation, startup, maintenance, and operation of automation systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to improve quality, cost, responsiveness, and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with industrial automation or controls systems.
• Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, standards, and functional machine safety.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, machine vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence, and Fanuc robotics.
• Experience with SCADA/MES, Ethernet networks, and additional control platforms or programming such as Siemens, B&R, Omron, Python, or SQL.
