Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Java/Spring Boot)

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems aligned with strategic roadmaps and milestones.
• Define technical direction and architecture with engineering teams across the T0 catalog platform.
• Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, automation, telemetry, and reusable development capabilities.
• Drive DevOps practices, cloud cost optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Diagnose systemic delivery obstacles and promote rigorous testing, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers, manage stakeholder relationships, and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science or engineering field plus 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Hands-on leadership experience with Tier 0 systems and software execution aligned with strategic roadmaps.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Reactive Spring, and Cassandra.
• Experience with software development lifecycle management, DevOps architecture, CI/CD, cloud financial management, and system design.
• Ability to lead architectural reviews, manage stakeholders, mentor engineers, and coordinate multiple teams.

Nice to have

• Rust experience.
• Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or engineering field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
