Turbomachinery Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup developing the hardware, software, fabrication facilities, tools, and components required to make semiconductor chips.

What you will do

• Own semiconductor fabrication systems and subsystems end to end, including deposition, etch, annealing, plasma tools, pumps, valves, sensors, and flow-control equipment.
• Design and iterate machines, vacuum systems, frames, components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Build, prototype, assemble, validate, and scale complex fabrication equipment.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, software, and production teams.
• Source components and materials and work with vendors to meet project specifications.

Requirements

• 2–7 years of professional experience in mechanical and electromechanical system design.
• 2–7 years of hands-on experience building, prototyping, and assembling complex systems.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or Physics.
• Experience designing vacuum systems or fluid-handling hardware.
• Strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience designing and shipping machined and fabricated metal parts into working systems, with familiarity with pumps, valves, fittings, tubing, chambers, and thermal systems.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or experience with plasma systems, CVD, or ALD.
• Familiarity with leak detection techniques and vacuum diagnostics.
• Experience with productionization and testing.
