Technical Lead (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States; a flexible workplace arrangement may allow remote work up to two days per week for eligible activities.

Salary: $160,400–$220,550 base annual salary.

What you will do

• Lead technical delivery of hardware and engineering solutions for mitigating tin debris in laser-produced plasma EUV systems.
• Identify and execute concepts addressing thermal, fluid-flow, mechanical, and process-performance gaps.
• Lead system architecture, prototyping, technical tradeoff decisions, and roadmap development.
• Coordinate mechanical, materials, electrical, software, systems engineering, and project-management stakeholders.
• Define specifications, test protocols, risk-mitigation strategies, and design improvements based on test data.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical teams through the product development lifecycle into production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, materials, or related engineering; an MS or PhD is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant experience and technical leadership experience with thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
• Experience interpreting CFD results, analyzing heat transfer, and designing thermal and gas-flow elements for process chambers.
• Experience with materials in extreme environments and interactions with liquid metals.
• Hands-on experience with hardware, testing, prototyping, system troubleshooting, and product development through production.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States export regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor processing equipment technology, process engineering, or engineering design.
• Project engineering experience leading small technical teams.
