Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Totowa, New Jersey, USA; onsite role

Salary: $106,000–$155,467 annually

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical scope of analyzer and dosing system projects from requirements and feasibility through design release, production, and post-release support.
• Develop and review 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, drawings, flow diagrams, and complete engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Design and integrate complex assemblies including pumps, valves, tubing, fittings, spectrometers, light sources, optical components, electrodes, and motors.
• Manage product customizations, mechanical interfaces, variant configurations, BOM integrity, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA and risk reviews, verification planning, prototype builds, qualification testing, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with electrical, software, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and service teams; manage high-impact CO/ECO/ECN changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years with a master’s degree, or a doctorate in a related field.
• Experience developing electromechanical products from concept through production and sustaining.
• Strong experience with mechanical design, CAD systems, system integration, technical documentation, and design reviews.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Totowa, New Jersey, USA.
