Principal Data Visualization Engineer (Qlik)

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States (hybrid). U.S. citizenship is required; an active Public Trust clearance in DHS or a DHS component is highly preferred.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

What you will do

• Create meaningful dashboards supporting mission-critical customer decision-making.
• Work with large and complex datasets across multiple data domains.
• Develop data models, scripts, and ETL workflows in Qlik environments.
• Define requirements and document visualization artifacts.
• Collaborate with program staff and customers to make design decisions within project constraints.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of overall technical experience in areas such as databases, data integration, data mining, big data, or data visualization.
• At least three years of experience developing dashboards with Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Qlik data modeling, scripting, and ETL development.
• Strong SQL experience with relational databases and large datasets.
• Strong communication, requirements definition, documentation, collaboration, and diplomacy skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required for the role.

Nice to have

• Project experience using Qlik Sense for data visualization and analysis.
• Competence in Python, Spark, and PySpark.
• Experience with federal government clients.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Active Public Trust clearance in DHS or a DHS component.
