CNC Programmer/Tooling Specialist

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, validate, and optimize CNC programs for turning and milling operations using approved CAD/CAM software.
• Analyze programming methods and implement improved machining strategies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues.
• Specify tooling, machining data, and work-holding strategies while maintaining CNC documentation and manufacturing databases.
• Manage tooling room operations, inventory, storage, replenishment, repairs, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience in manufacturing, machining, tooling, CNC programming, or industrial engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience with CNC turning, milling, EDM operations, CAD/CAM software, CNC controls, and manufacturing systems.
• Ability to perform calculations using decimals, fractions, metrics, and machining formulas.
• Ability to debug CNC programs during production, prioritize shop-floor programming work, operate independently, and communicate complex technical needs to management.

Nice to have

• Experience with tooling selection, tooling inventory management, and machining process support.
• Working knowledge of G-Code, CNC machining practices, cutting tools, and work-holding methods.
