CNC Machinist

What you will do

• Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC lathes, mills, drills, and other numerically controlled machinery.
• Machine components from work orders, drawings, sketches, layouts, and written or verbal instructions.
• Maintain quality and tolerances within .0003 inches using precision measuring instruments.
• Preset and resharpen tools, adjust machine parameters, and work with stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, brass, and other materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance, report equipment issues, maintain clean work areas, and follow safety procedures.
• Complete labor and time reports and support additional branch-specific production duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical school education, and working machinist knowledge.
• At least 3 years of CNC machine tool programming, program editing, and operating experience.
• Experience with CNC lathes and mills, manual machining, and interpreting machine drawings.
• Ability to operate at least two CNC machine tools and understand and modify machine parameters.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, resolve elementary technical problems, and manage multiple priorities independently.
• Strong verbal, written, problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
