Mechanical Engineer - Pulsed Power

Location: Full-time onsite role based at the headquarters in Denver, Colorado, United States

What you will do

• Develop and specify pulsed power generator components and mechanical assemblies for laser systems.
• Design generator parts, assemblies, lifting structures, oil plumbing, pumping systems, and structural supports using NX CAD.
• Integrate Marx generators and pulsed power subsystems through analysis, documentation, machine testing, and interface control documents.
• Lead preliminary and final design efforts for prototype systems and subsystems.
• Work with vendors and cross-functional mechanical, laser, controls, pulsed power, and optical engineering teams.
• Support procurement, assembly, shakedown, testing, failure analysis, operational support, and scaling designs for power-producing inertial fusion reactors.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical, Nuclear, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on high-voltage pulsed power design for complex hardware.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, with NX preferred, and working knowledge of finite element analysis.
• Experience designing simple PCBs or flex circuits and integrated systems such as pulsed power, lasers, high-voltage systems, fusion energy, aerospace, or defense hardware.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and testing.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
