Software Engineer, Mission Software

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at the Long Beach location

Salary: $135,300–$192,060 USD annually

What you will do

• Design and implement web applications with modern frontends, application servers, APIs, and microservices.
• Build backend systems, data models, APIs, and supporting pipelines.
• Develop solutions that interface with flight software and simulation systems.
• Build tools and platforms for software development, including test automation, simulation management, and continuous deployment.
• Rapidly iterate on internal tooling and design applications as the organization grows.
• Help establish software practices and architectural patterns that scale to a large codebase and engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or another engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack applications.
• Experience with API design, multiple programming languages, or time-series data and databases.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience solving ambiguous problems.
• Production DevOps experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with React, Vue, NextJS, GraphQL, Golang, OAuth, Terraform, or PostgreSQL.
