Software Engineer, Public Sector - New Grad (AI)

Location: Public-sector engineering role supporting U.S. federal datasets and government applications.

Salary: $124,000–$162,000 USD per year, with potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build systems that ingest, process, and expose large federal datasets for real-time decision-making.
• Develop guardrails, evaluation infrastructure, and interfaces that make agent decisions safer, explainable, and auditable.
• Optimize data retrieval with RAG pipelines and orchestrate fleets of asynchronous agents.
• Create anomaly-alerting systems, data pipelines, and ML infrastructure for previously siloed government data.
• Ship full-stack tooling for querying, visualizing, and exploring mission data.
• Deploy and harden applications in secure, air-gapped, and cloud-native environments while working directly with government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, EECS, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Product or software engineering experience, including building full-stack web applications and integrating APIs and services.
• Previous product or software engineering internship experience and a record of shipping high-quality features at scale.
• Experience building systems that process large volumes of data.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and/or MongoDB.
• Strong written and verbal communication, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, evaluations, or agentic systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to ETL, data modeling, data warehousing, or data governance.
• Interest or experience in national security, defense, or civil government technology.
• Open-source contributions or shipped side projects.
