Focus on leading emergency and non-emergency activities, evaluating fire code compliance, coordinating contractors and regulatory organizations, and managing physically demanding response requirements.
Location: On-premise in Groton, Connecticut, United States. Overtime may include nights and weekends. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
Salary: $26.86–$44.77 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums.

What you will do
- Provide emergency response services for fire, medical, hazardous materials, and technical rescue events.
- Perform daily inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems.
- Evaluate fire code compliance and support facility inspections and compliance audits.
- Apply incident command, emergency medical response, hazardous materials, fire prevention, and safety procedures.
- Support inspection, testing, and maintenance services delivered by outsourced providers.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams, maintenance and utilities personnel, contractors, regulatory agencies, and mutual aid organizations.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of active firefighter experience with a recognized firefighting organization.
- Experience in emergency response programs, inspection and maintenance of life safety systems, and developing or managing fire department programs.
- High school diploma required.
- Connecticut Firefighter 1 certification, Connecticut Emergency Medical Technician certification, and a current Connecticut 2Q or corresponding CDL license for fire apparatus required.
- Ability to pass required medical surveillance and physical fitness assessments.
- Permanent United States work authorization required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- 40-hour Hazardous Materials Technician certification.
- Confined space entry experience.
- Experience with inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Connecticut Certified Fire Service Instructor certification.
