Manager, Environmental Health and Safety (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead site environmental, health, safety, occupational health, emergency response, security, and risk management programs.
• Advise site leadership on environmental compliance, occupational health, safety, process safety, and operational risk.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, corporate, PSM, and RMP requirements.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessment, mitigation, emergency response, business continuity, and security initiatives.
• Manage, develop, and support the site EHS team while coordinating with operational leaders, corporate teams, regulators, emergency organizations, and community stakeholders.
• Manage EHS operating, staffing, and capital budgets and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, or a related discipline, or 10+ years of EHS experience in chemical manufacturing in lieu of the stated degree and experience combination.
• At least 7 years of relevant EHS experience.
• Experience maintaining compliance in PSM/RMP-regulated facilities and working in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of environmental, occupational health, industrial hygiene, process safety, and chemical manufacturing regulations.
• Leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, strategic planning, analytical, communication, and budget management skills.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, REM, or equivalent.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or other highly regulated, high-hazard manufacturing environments.
• Experience with fire departments, HazMat teams, and other local emergency response organizations.
• Experience serving as a strategic EHS advisor and managing EHS operating and capital budgets.
