TL;DR
Spacecraft Fluids Systems Technician/Thermal Control (Aerospace): Building and testing pressurized fluid systems, tubing, wire harnesses, and thermal-control hardware for high-power spacecraft with an accent on precision assembly, pressure verification, and vehicle-level integration. Focus on fabricating and installing fluid lines, performing leak and proof testing, supporting vacuum-chamber operations, and resolving hardware issues across manufacturing, test, quality, and engineering teams.

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; onsite work required

Salary: $35–$45 per hour, plus company equity

What you will do

  • Assemble pressurized system hardware and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
  • Support system integration, leak checks, proof testing, pressure-system verification, and vehicle-level operations.
  • Fabricate, bend, fit, and install precision tubing and fluid lines, including orbital welding and fitting operations.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses from assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Set up vacuum chambers for acceptance and performance testing and occasionally support COPV pressure testing and handling.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, test, quality, and design engineering to resolve hardware issues and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Must work onsite in Los Angeles, California.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on aerospace assembly and test experience in propulsion, pressure systems, fluid systems, or other high-reliability hardware.
  • Experience with pressure testing, leak checking, proof or burst testing, or COPV handling.
  • Hands-on experience with tube fabrication, bending, and fittings such as flare, AN, or VCR.
  • Experience with MES/MRP software, calibrated tools, FOD/ESD-sensitive hardware, and cleanroom requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with aerospace propulsion systems, pressure testing, vacuum chambers, turbo pumps, roughing pumps, and gauges.
  • Ability to read mechanical and engineering drawings and interpret tolerances, including GD&T.
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or heavy equipment.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Current or obtainable Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
