Environmental Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Bay City, Michigan, United States; full-time presence at the Bay City facility is required.

What you will do

• Lead air, waste, and water environmental compliance programs and drive consistent environmental stewardship.
• Develop and maintain environmental management systems and programs that reduce environmental risk.
• Monitor environmental parameters and progress, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Engage with local and state regulatory agencies and prepare required documentation and reports.
• Schedule and perform compliance testing while supporting environmental system design and implementation.
• Learn plant manufacturing processes and support environmental programs, habitat initiatives, and educational outreach.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related science.
• Experience with environmental engineering, environmental regulations, or related sciences.
• Knowledge or experience in air permitting, stormwater and wastewater permitting, hazardous waste generator requirements, or other environmental media.
• Demonstrated ability to execute projects and work independently.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 support.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree specifically in environmental engineering.
• Basic knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
• Environmental engineering or related science experience in a manufacturing operation.
