Staff Software Engineer (MCP and A2A)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate MCP servers and clients, including schemas, transports, authentication, scoping, and versioning.
• Develop A2A components for agent discovery, capability advertisement, task delegation, handoff, message contracts, and failure semantics.
• Build multi-step agentic workflows with planning loops, tool calls, state and context management, memory, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, retries, and termination conditions.
• Own reliability, latency, cost, evaluation, and observability for production agent systems.
• Harden systems against tool abuse and prompt injection, and debug non-deterministic failures across multi-agent paths.
• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer and other engineers through architecture work, code reviews, and design reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom orchestration.
• Practical MCP and/or A2A experience, or a strong understanding of the underlying concepts with the ability to ramp quickly.
• Systems design experience covering state, concurrency, failure modes, and observability in distributed, non-deterministic systems.
• Proficiency in Java and/or TypeScript/Node, plus experience shipping and operating complex production systems.
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain agent behavior to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM and agent output evaluation frameworks.
• Contributions to open-source agent or protocol projects.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering, and context management at scale.
• Proficiency in Python.
