Principal, Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite home office

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, cloud-native infrastructure, and reusable engineering tools.
• Write production-quality code, build automated tests, and take implementations through production deployment.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle across teams, including CI/CD, testing, observability, incident response, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Architect and integrate AI/ML-enhanced applications and real-time data processing capabilities for millions of users.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while making architectural decisions and promoting engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into measurable technical outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience leading platform engineering initiatives and delivering scalable, cloud-native architectures and reusable infrastructure.
• Strong coding skills and experience delivering production-quality software using languages such as Python, Java, and C++.
• Experience with software development lifecycle management, CI/CD, testing, observability, and incident response.
• Strong background in AI/ML integration and intelligent software systems.
• Ability to work onsite at the Sunnyvale, California location.

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
