Principal Software Engineer (AI/ML Architect)

Salary: $163,900–$235,550 USD annually; Seattle-specific pay range may apply. Additional performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards may be available.

What you will do

• Define and drive the generative AI architecture strategy across hirify.global’s product suite.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in transformer models, diffusion models, GANs, large language models, and multimodal architectures.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, product management, data science, and engineering teams to prioritize and deliver GenAI initiatives.
• Lead advanced generative AI research and integrate state-of-the-art techniques into products.
• Oversee the deployment and optimization of large-scale AI models for production performance, cost, and resource efficiency.
• Establish AI/ML development, MLOps, CI/CD, quality assurance, governance, and architectural standards while mentoring senior engineering leaders.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 12+ years of software development and AI experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on generative AI, NLP, or related experience.
• Proven experience architecting and deploying large-scale AI/ML systems in production.
• Expertise in Python or Java and AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and MLOps practices for large-scale model training and deployment.
• Recognized AI thought leadership, including publications in leading conferences or journals and the ability to influence long-term AI strategy.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-compliance environments, privacy-preserving AI, responsible AI, model interpretability, and ethical AI.
• Experience optimizing models through compression, distillation, and efficient deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
