Systems Engineer (Storage Area Networks)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; on-site work supporting a customer project.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Administer Storage Area Networks, including zoning, host groups, SAN fabrics, and redundant paths.
• Install and configure Hitachi HiCommand software and maintain Hitachi storage array hardware.
• Configure and manage Cisco Fibre Channel environments, ISLs, DCMN software, and MDS9000 hardware.
• Monitor, patch, and maintain systems while working with an ISSE to address security concerns.
• Support VMware environments and troubleshoot physical IT infrastructure with mission partners.
• Work independently while managing infrastructure changes, incidents, and system lifecycles.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Experience with SAN zoning, host groups, Hitachi storage, Cisco switches, Brocade and/or NetApp storage, and VMware.
• Experience as a Cisco Fibre Channel SAN administrator, including creating SAN fabrics and managing Cisco ISLs.
• Experience with Hitachi HiCommand installation and configuration, Hitachi array hardware maintenance, and dual-active path identification.
• Experience monitoring and patching systems and addressing security concerns with an ISSE.
• Must support the customer project in Herndon, Virginia, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with the sponsor’s IT equipment disposal procedures, internal networks, data center operations, and ticketing system.
• Experience with systems lifecycles and troubleshooting physical infrastructure with mission partners.
