Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: 100% in-office in San Antonio, Texas, United States. The position will be temporarily based in northeast San Antonio before moving to the permanent Brooks location at 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, TX 78235.

What you will do

• Interpret demand requirements and make strategic procurement decisions.
• Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, goods, and services.
• Issue purchase orders, expedite orders, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate nonconformance issues.
• Analyze supplier performance across quality, delivery, price, and related metrics.
• Identify supply chain risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate recommendations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Program Management, suppliers, and other stakeholders to improve material availability and procurement processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or operations management.
• 3–5 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fundamental understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement.
• Adaptability, resourcefulness, and willingness to support changing operational needs.
• Ability to work 100% in-office in San Antonio, Texas.
